Outgoing Buccaneers RFC President, Patrick O’Meara, welcomed a modest ‘live’ attendance to the club’s AGM held in the Lower Deck at Dubarry Park in recent times.

Outgoing President, Gordon Ballantyne, welcomed a good attendance to the recent Buccaneers Rugby Football Club AGM in The Bounty. The club had mixed success on the playing fields, winning another Connacht Senior League and Cup double but being relegated in the All-Ireland League. Off the playing fields he was pleased to report that the club had “got control of its financial shortfall”, which was one of his key priorities in office.

Jordan Conroy and Tom Conlon were the main winners at Buccaneers Rugby Football Club’s annual awards event held at the Sheraton Athlone Hotel last Saturday night, May 13.

In association with Croughan’s SuperValu, a couple of Buccs are ‘getting hitched’ in The Bounty this Saturday, August 20, with the ‘marriage ceremony’ being performed by the ‘Irreverant’ Tom Boland with assistance from Noelie Ryan.

Buccaneers staged a hugely successful event last Friday and Saturday at Athlone’s Sheraton Hotel in the form of the much anticipated ‘Strictly Scrum Dancing’.
